The tablet, expected to be targeted at professionals specially in publishing industry, will feature a higher resolution screen and high definition cameras at both front and rear.
Apple is apparently working on a high-end iPad for professionals. The new version, which will be sold along with the existing model, will have better screen resolution and high definition camera with some new software aimed at professional use.
"Apple is expected to roll out a premium version of iPad 2--a higher resolution screen, front-/rear- facing HD cameras--in the current quarter," Ashok Kumar, an analyst at Rodman and Renshaw, wrote in a research note today.
Last month DigiTimes had written about the professional iPad version. They had quoted sources from the suppliers' side. The new version will sport a 2048 x 1536 resolution screen and be called the "iPad HD".
Also expected is an iPad version of Final Cut or Aperture (image and video editing software). The tablet is expected to be targeted at professionals specially in publishing industry.
The launch is expected in the next two months, so there is not much waiting that will be required.
